Holy Cankles...

So here is the latest...I just got back from my 36 week appointment

  • The little man is only measuring one week ahead now, instead of three. Maybe he won't make it to 10 lbs...fingers crossed!

  • My blood pressure has decided to get even higher, so now I am on a "take it easy, and keep your feet up" rest. YUCK. I have WAY to much to do to take it easy.

  • I have been swelling like a bloated cow everyday, my feet look like water balloons by about noon. They are constantly like memory foam now, and I have started to get a swollen face and eye bags daily.

  • I have protein in my urine, so the doc tells me that I have toxemia...it just hasn't gotten too bad yet.

  • I am officially dialated to a 1 and 75% effaced. Not much yet, but it is something :)

  • The doc sent me home with a big jug to collect my urine for the next 24 hours. Then we need to take it to labor and delivery tomorrow, get monitored for a couple hours and then they will make a game plan from there. My doctor said that with toxemia, it can get really bad over night, or it can take weeks...so I guess we will see tomorrow.

In the meantime, I am supposed to hanging out with my pee-jug, with my feet up taking it easy. SERIOUSLY. Who can do this when they are told their baby could be born tomorrow...and they have basically NOTHING ready?!?! I think that my blood pressure is just getting higher while I sit here and think about everything I need to be doing :) I know the baby isn't going to care if my house is clean, or if he has a bedroom, but it stresses me out-we are supposed to have at least a few more weeks to prepare...Right? I guess there is a good chance that we still might...and we will find out tomorrow. WISH US LUCK!!!

I thought I would leave you with a little photo to grose you out...just like memory foam. EEEWWWW!

Sorry, I couldn't resist just one more...have you ever seen anything so nasty?!?!

Oh so crafty...

I have been working on tons of projects for the little guy, even if his room is no where near being finished, at least the bedding is. Once we get the basement done we can focus on his room, hopefully this happens before he decides to arrive. Here is a little peak at his crib bedding and a few other things I have made for him...

The bumper and crib quilt, I made a couple of sheets and a crib skirt too so they all match perfectly. I love it...I just wish it were on a crib and ready to go!

The inside of a diaper clutch

The outside of the clutch, I know it has flowers on it, but I am the one who carries it around so I don't think the flowers hurt :)

Random t-shirts

Guitar onesie

Soft cuddly blankets.

A close up, I wish you could feel how soft this fabric is. It is to die for!

Burp cloths.

I have many more projects up my sleeve, I just need to find time to finish them all...when I do I will post a few pics.

One year ago

I wanted to share a few pics from when Spencer came home from Iraq, one year ago. I really can't believe that he has already been home for that long. I wish the year he was gone went by as fast as this last year has. It has been so good to have him home and I really, really hope that we don't ever have to do it again...

Spencer didn't fly in until about midnight on May 29th. I was so NERVOUS and I had butterflies the whole day leading up to it. I was so excited but also a little scared at what our new lives together again were going to be like.

Spencer's mom, Ann, brought up lots of fun patriotic stuff for us to wear. The little kiddos loved all of it.

Spencer's mom and sisters...I have to mention that Sarah is nine months pregnant in this picture. Doesn't she look great?!? She really should have let me in her secret before I turned into the pillsbury dough boy. Too late now ;)

We had the best seats in the place. We were right in the very front, where all the guys came off the plane, so we were able to find Spence pretty quick. It was so AWESOME to see him, all in one piece and safe at home. We missed him so much! This had to be one of the happiest days of my life.

This is the whole crew that came up. I was so happy that everyone decided to come, even though it was so late. Everyone being there gave Spence the home coming that he deserved!

Seeing all of these pictures again totally brings me to tears...it was such a hard thing to deal with, but I think that our relationship is only stronger having done it. I am so happy that we were lucky enough to have Spencer make it home safe, and I am so grateful to my family for helping us make the best out of our situation. There is always the chance that we might have to do it all over again some day, but until then, I am enjoying every second with him :)

32 Weeks

It is getting harder and harder for me to post any picture of me because I really am like a bloated cow...but I started this update thing and I am going to stick with it till the end. So here goes.

  • I am 32 weeks here and I really have NO MORE room for this kid to grow. He is in my ribs and about to fall out, all at the same time.

  • I am bigger than I ever was with Kam, in many ways. My sweet Grandpa is amazed at how large I am every time I see him. He doesn't think it is normal for me to be so big, he just keeps asking me how much longer I have and when I tell him he about dies. He also loves to give me crap about it too. He told me that if I go into July, we will have to get a kenworth diesel to take me to the hospital...Spencer reassured me that he is pretty sure I will still fit in the back of his pickup by then. Ha ha ha. I just love it.

  • At my last appointment, my blood pressure was higher than normal, so we are watching it to make sure I don't get pre-eclampsia.

  • Also at the last appointment I was 31 weeks and 4 days, but I was actually measuring more like 34-35 weeks. The doc was not too concerned, but said if I keep measuring that large than they will have to do an ultrasound to make sure that I am not growing a ten pound kid in there. I could hardly get Kam out and he was only 7 lb1 oz, and this was after 3 hours of pushing and then the vacuum. What will I do with ten pounds?!?!

  • My feet have officially started to swell. It is quite creepy. The first time I really freaked out because the skin on my ankles was like memory foam, you could push on it and it stayed there. YUCK. I am not looking forward to this for the next several weeks. I can hardly wear flip flops by the end of the day. When I take them off I have indents from the straps...so attractive!

  • My contractions are still there but I have gotten used to them. Every once in a while I get one that hurts pretty fierce and it freaks me out to think that about the real thing...

  • I am starting to get really ScAReD! I am not a big fan of pain, actually I am a huge wuss, and now that I only have 7 weeks left I am getting VERY nervous of delivering and recovering. What if I don't have time for an epidural, or what if it doesn't work right?!?! I was a mess until my epidural with Kam and I am really getting scared for that again. Also, I am nervous for all the changes that we are in for once our new little guy comes. What is Kam becomes even more difficult and doesn't like his new little brother? What if I can't take the stress of Kam plus a newborn?! Really, I am sure it will all work out, but I am getting really nervous

  • We are still working on getting the basement finished so that I can get the babies room done. As of now, his room is still our junk room, so he better hang in there for awhile.
  • The doc set me up for an induction date of July 20. He doesn't seem to think that I will go that long, but the date is set, just in case. I think if he really feels like this little guy is going to be pushing ten pounds then I will just have to self-induce before the 20th :) Maybe I will do something that will put my body into complete shock, like exercise...
