Curious Kam

The other day while Kam and I were laying in bed watching morning cartoons, Kam asked me how his little brother eats food while he is living in my tummy. So I tried to explain how he gets food through his umbilical cord that is in his tummy, etc. Kam listened very carefully, then when I was done explaining he decided to give me a recap-here is his version:

So you eat food and drink stuff then it goes down your drain, then into your boobies, then my brother eats it out of your tummy?

I really have no idea where he came up with the boobies part. I didn't go into breast feeding at all, so he must have came up with that part on his own...I can't wait until the baby is here and I really have to try and explain the whole breast feeding thing to him :)

My weekend away...

My mom and I were SO EXCITED to get away this past weekend at the Scrapbook USA Expo. I have been counting down the days! Spencer has been making fun of me because I have been so excited about it. He told me that I was like a dorky beanie baby collector going to my first convention. He doesn't get it at all :) There are two expos a year, and my Mom and I always go but this is the first time we ever made a weekend out of it. We had so much fun! We scrapbooked and shopped from 8:45 am on Friday morning until 11:30 pm that night, then stayed at a hotel and went back at 10 am Saturday to do it all over again. I really wish I could say that I accomplished a lot, but I really didn't. It is too fun to walk around and check out the deals, check out weirdo people, and just hang out and eat. Even though we didn't get a lot done, it was worth every penny just to have a weekend alone with my mom, we always have the BEST time when we are together.

Oh yeah, you would think that leaving my two boys alone all weekend would not be a good thing for my house... I really expected to come home to complete chaos, but Spencer surprised me with a spotless house, clean basement, and a cleaned out garage. What more could a girl ask for?!? It was a GREAT weekend :)

Congrats!

Spencer recently recieved a promotion in the military. I just wanted to let him know how proud I am of him and how much I appreciate what he does for our family. We were able to go out to his work when they promoted him for the official rank-change. It was great to be there to see and hear how much he is appreciated and admired. He really is a GREAT guy and he is so GOOD at what he does!! Congrats Babe, you are the best and we love you so much!!!

Swimming in Fillmore

On Friday we decided to head down to Fillmore for a sleepover. Kam loves to go down there and visit and it made it even better because Ann and Doug were watching Sarah's kiddos for the weekend, so Kam got to play with his best buddy Brock. The boys had a great day Saturday started off by a trip to Delta for some motorbike races, lunch at McDonalds, and swimming at the pool. Spencer and Doug were good sports and got in the water with the boys while Ann, Katy and I just got to watch. Here are some pics from their fun afternoon...

Graham, dippin his toes in the pool (isn't he a cutie!?)

Kam

Kam was is so much braver this year. He didn't even think about it before jumping into the water. This could definitely be a bad thing this summer :)

Taking the slide for a spin. Turns out he loved it and did it over and over.

At the bottom of the slide after Daddy caught him. He really LOVED it!

Brock was totally brave too!

These two boys did this over and over into the baby pool. They had so much fun!
Good buddies, just about wasted from their busy day.

Thanks Ann and Doug for the FUN weekend!!!

Fun Day at the Park

A while ago, when the weather was teasing us with spring temperatures the first time, Spence and I took Kam to the park for a couple hours. He had a blast. I took some pictures like this at the same park before Spencer went to Iraq. It is crazy to see how much Kam has changed and grown up. Here are a few pics from our fun afternoon... plus I threw in a few flashbacks from the first time.

Funny Kam

I really need to be better at writing things down that Kam comes up with.

The other day, my mom, Kam, and I were at Target. We were getting ready to leave and I wanted him to go in and use the bathroom before we drove home. For some reason Kam likes to "hold it" until it is shooting out, so he only goes pee like twice a day. It drives me CRAZY. I know he needs to pee, so we have our daily fight around one or two when I force him to go in and pee. Anyways, we got him talked into going in and checking out the Target bathroom, with one condition...he wanted to go into a stall all by himself-no help from anyone. I decided to wait outside the door and my mom took him in. As he was walking in he tells me "I guess I will go and see if there is any pee in my junk, mom". Okay dude, you go right ahead. So while they are in there, he finds himself a stall, while my mom is across the room in another stall in the crowded bathroom. He gets in there and while he is doing his business, decides to share with my mom by yelling across the bathroom "Hey Grandma, there was pee in my junk!!!" I am sure that the other ladies in the bathroom appreciated that little info from my four year old. Of course when they were finished, he shared the same info with me as we walked to the car. Love this kid :)

I do have more "junk" stories but, I think you all may be sick of hearing that word on my blog for a while! :)

Still got his junk...

Today we went for our 20 week ultrasound, and I am glad to announce that Kam's baby brother still has "junk" and he is still a boy. Kam was happy to hear that news, and I was a little relieved too. I have had dreams lately that when we went in today the ultrasound tech found that we actually had a little girl in there and every time I had those dreams, I woke up pretty disappointed. I guess I really am excited about having another boy :)

When we started the ultrasound lady told us not to tell her the gender because she wanted to see if she saw the same thing. So as soon as she stuck the camera on my tummy Kam immediately says, "I see his junk". (Kam has always called his boy part "junk", I am really not sure why-he must have heard it at some point and it has just stuck). After Kam's announcement every time we caught a glimpse of his part, the tech would point out his "junk" for us. She thought it was pretty funny. Judging by the amount of time he spent hanging onto his junk, he is definitely a true boy :)

Anyways, the ultrasound showed that everything is perfect with our little guy. He was too cute, even if he did look like an alien. I LOVE to have ultrasounds and be able to see him. It makes it feel so much more real.

Oh yeah, it looks like we might have a little thumb sucker on our hands too. Everytime we tried to get a picture of his face he was sucking his thumb, of course when his hands weren't tied up in other places ;)
