Still got his junk...

Today we went for our 20 week ultrasound, and I am glad to announce that Kam's baby brother still has "junk" and he is still a boy. Kam was happy to hear that news, and I was a little relieved too. I have had dreams lately that when we went in today the ultrasound tech found that we actually had a little girl in there and every time I had those dreams, I woke up pretty disappointed. I guess I really am excited about having another boy :)

When we started the ultrasound lady told us not to tell her the gender because she wanted to see if she saw the same thing. So as soon as she stuck the camera on my tummy Kam immediately says, "I see his junk". (Kam has always called his boy part "junk", I am really not sure why-he must have heard it at some point and it has just stuck). After Kam's announcement every time we caught a glimpse of his part, the tech would point out his "junk" for us. She thought it was pretty funny. Judging by the amount of time he spent hanging onto his junk, he is definitely a true boy :)

Anyways, the ultrasound showed that everything is perfect with our little guy. He was too cute, even if he did look like an alien. I LOVE to have ultrasounds and be able to see him. It makes it feel so much more real.

Oh yeah, it looks like we might have a little thumb sucker on our hands too. Everytime we tried to get a picture of his face he was sucking his thumb, of course when his hands weren't tied up in other places ;)

Crafting with Kam

Spencer HATES when I have Kam do something "crafty" so I am sure he will love to hear how much fun Kam had this morning making his valentines for his preschool class :) Kam even told me "I really like to scrapbook with you, mom". Spencer will just love that! I am sure he will have to do something extra "manly" with him when he gets home tonight!!

Kam's 4th Birthday

Kam recently turned four and we had a big "go, go, power ranger" bash to celebrate the occasion. We got together with all our family for pizza and a pinata. Kam had a blast and he got way too many presents, but I guess you only turn four once :) Here are a few pics from the big night....

Very proud of his 4 pancake.

The totally awesome power ranger cake.

Power up.

Me and my little goof :)

My two guys. Love them.

All the kiddos, minus Luke who was hiding under the table.

The belly...WOW.

My cute little 4 year old. I really can't believe that my baby is that old.

It's a .....

BOY!!!

I finally talked Spencer into going to the gender ultrasound thing in the mall, and this is our big news! I am not going to lie, I was a little disappointed at first (I was really hoping for a girl) but everyday I get more and more excited to meet our new little guy. I am actually a teeny bit relieved too because it will save us a lot of money in the long run, I think we already own EVERY boy toy and movie ever made. I just wish that the two boys were born in the same season, all of Kam's 0-3 month clothes are for winter, and I am going to be needing summer clothes for this little guy, so we won't be saving much on clothes! Kam is so excited. He even told us that his brother can live in his room, but if it was a sister than she would have to go and live with grandma. Spencer has always been dead-set on only having two kids and he really doesn't like pregnant Lacy so I am going to have my work cut out on talking him into a third! Really though, I am SO excited to be having a brother for Kam and I can't wait to meet him!!

Broken computer

My computer is not working so I haven't been able to post anything for a while. Spencer is having it looked at this week and in the meantime I have his laptop. It works great, but it doesn't have any of my pics on it so this is as good as it gets for a post!

Nothing too exciting going on around our house. Kam is on day 9 of a very crappy flu/cold thing and I have officially caught it. I am just hoping I don't get the barf portion of Kam's yuck. Poor guy has been SO SICK and I think I am just as sick of it as he is!

As soon as my computer is working again I promise to post something a little more exciting...

Baby Update

I thought I would give you all a little update on the pregnancy...I went to the doc yesterday and we heard the heartbeat-that was a relief. I was a little nervous going there yesterday because I have started to feel much better lately, I guess that is what happens around 12 weeks, but it still made me worry a bit :) It took the nurse a few minutes to find it and I was really sweating by the time she did. She also got my hopes up a bit when she said the baby had a fast heartbeat, so she was guessing it was a girl. I guess we will see....

We went in at 8 weeks because I was having some spotting and it turned out I have something called a subchorionic hemorrhage. I really don't know much about it, just that it is a tear in your uterus lining caused by the placenta attaching (or something like that). I guess they are pretty common and they are not something you need to worry about when it is small like mine. Most of the time they heal on their own, or your body just absorbs it. Anyways, in order to make sure mine healed completely they put me on strict orders to take it easy. No lifting at all, no exercise, no doing laundry or vacuuming, etc. It sounds like it would be great...right? Not so much. It has really been hard trying to avoid all those things (except the exercise, of course) . Have you ever been to the grocery store with your 3 1/2 year old and not been able to lift them in the cart, so you just hope they stay close to you?!? Not how it works with Kam...he wanders and hides.

The doc told me yesterday that because my cramping and spotting has been gone for a couple weeks, he is pretty sure my hemorrhage has healed and that I can start to lift and clean again. I really don't know how anyone goes on complete bed rest when they are pregnant, especially if they have any other kids. YIKES!!

Merry Christmas...a little late!

Okay, I know I am the worst blogger on the planet. December is just WAY too busy! I am going to try hard to catch up before another holiday hits, so here is how we spent our Christmas this year....

This year we spent Christmas Eve in Fillmore. Usually, all of Spencer's sisters are there but this year Martha and Anna's families stayed at their houses and just came down Christmas afternoon instead. When we are all together it is pretty crazy, but lots of fun too, so I missed them on Christmas Eve :)

Grandpa Christensen braved the snow and joined us for a yummy dinner that Ann had made. We ate and ate and ate until we were all sick and then Spencer's dad read the Christmas story to us. Ann assigns everyone a part and we all act it out. I was a shepherd this year, Spencer was the Inn keeper, and Kam was supposed to be a Wiseman. By the looks of the pictures he liked his costume and went along with it great....don't be fooled.

Seriously, he is SOOO lucky he is cute.

Two of the Wisemen, Kyle was the third and I don't think he would have let me take a picture :)

Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus

As we were getting everything ready, Kam decided he didn't want to wear the hat anymore. So started #17 breakdown of the evening. I seriously don't know what has gotten in to him lately but he has had the HARDEST time-even harder than usual, which if you know him, this is pretty bad. So Doug read the Christmas story to the sound of the third wiseman throwing a fit in the back bedroom, in timeout. Ahhh, the memories... :)

After Kam calmed down (and Spence and I decided we wouldn't kill him... tonight) we opened our gifts from the sandman. It is a tradition every year that the sandman brings us new jammies every Christmas Eve. It is always nice to get some new nice pj's and this year all the girls got big soft robes. The little boys all had matching jammies and they looked pretty cute in them.

Kam, Graham, and Brock

After the sandman festivities, Brock and Kam made some cookies for Santa. They had a lot of fun licking the sprinkles and dough as they rolled it out and cut it into shapes that you really couldn't tell what they were. They were very proud of the cookies and as soon as they were on a plate for Santa along with a glass of milk, we managed to get the boys to sleep.

The cookie cutters they used where a snowman and a tree, can you tell?!?

Christmas morning the boys were so excited to see if Santa had brought them their bikes. We got out the video camera to catch Kam's excitement when he saw that Santa had listened to him and brought him the dirtbike that he wanted so badly....not quite. Christmas wouldn't be quite complete without a display of Kam's ingratitude :) He was mad about his bike. He wanted a spiderman bike like Brock got from Santa. WHAT?!! We tried and tried to talk him into the spiderman bike the week before, but NO he wanted the dirtbike that was now in the living room right before his eyes. Santa could have saved $40. The sad thing was that it really wouldn't have been Kam if he was happy with what he got, such a STINKER!!! At least we have the whole thing on video and when he gets older we can show him that he really was that naughty :) After a few minutes he realized that his bike was really cool and then we had a hard time getting him off it to open any other presents.

Kam's pile of presents...way too spoiled.

The boys when they saw their bikes for the first time. Not quite sure what to do!

.

Loving the bikes.

What spiderman bike?!

Me and my little stink.

Doug, Spencer's dad

Graham, totally pooped from all the present opening. Isn't he too cute??!!

After Kam was thoroughly spoiled and all the presents were open we all just relaxed the whole day. That night Anna and Martha's families came and we had dinner and opened more presents. The next morning we headed to my Mom's house for breakfast and Christmas part two. Those pictures will have to wait because my mom took most of them...so stay tuned. That night we headed home because my Dad was in town for Christmas part three. (Kam seriously thinks that Christmas is a three day event now). For some reason I didn't take any pictures while my Dad was here but we had a great time with him over the weekend. It is always great to see him and the kids.

I hope you all had a really great Christmas this year. I know we had a great one mainly because Spencer was safe and home with us this year!
